Monkey
Please note that although there's the facility to upload images directly into the forum, this uses up valuable server space and costs the forum money, which we'd rather use on keeping annoying flashing banner ads away. For this reason, we've disabled the feature With that in mind, when posting pictures, use an external image hosting site such as ImageShack or Flickr. Both are free to join and very easy to use. www.flickr.com www.imageshack.us <edit> Imageshack isn't free any more, so use flickr.com EDITED TO ADD: You can also use postimages.org https://postimages.org/ Use the "Direct link" option. Instructions for FLICKR.COM Upload your picture and find the "share" button. Copy and paste the BBCode that pops up. You only need the code between the first and second URL tag for the actual picture so when you paste it into your post, just delete the lines of code you don't need. The end result should be a nice pic of some bikes, pretty flowers, and beautiful people as in this case above. Well one out of three ain't that bad really. Instructions for IMAGESHACK.US 1) Head over to imageshack.us 2) Hit the "Media Upload" button. 3) Press the "Browse" button and find the image from your computer 4) Hit the "Upload now" button. Wait a few seconds... or longer if you live out in the sticks. 5) ... then copy the "Forum Code" link in the box and paste it into the message you're writing on the forum. 5a) If you've uploaded a big stack of images in a frenzied session and need to recall the codes, simply press the "My Images" button. Select the option to "Embed this image" and some codes will appear. Choose the "Forum" code and paste it into the message. Voila! Enjoy picture of overpriced exotic performance bike and Italian totty flanked by two wrinkly, but important, Ducati geezers.
blow_away
Hi Monkey Do you have any instructions for posting pics hosted on Flickr? (Also when I click "reply" I get a load of text in the reply window, looks like a quote?)
wavydavy
(Also when I click "reply" I get a load of text in the reply window, looks like a quote?) that's 'cos you are clicking the reply box at the bottom of a post with the 'quote' box next to it "+"d. "-" the 'quote' bit or use the reply button at the bottom of the page. Dave

TriGGer
Blow_away - In Flickr - looking at your photostream - click on Share This -> choose Embed -> and then look at the code shown. You're just after the bit in the quotes after <img src=" until you get to .jpg or some such. eg .. <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/30174685@N03/2863571690/" title="16/09/2008 by trigg3r, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3018/2863571690_993dcf9c2d.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="16/09/2008" /></a> All you do then is click the button and enter the bit highlighted. Tomfoolery
Blow_away - In Flickr - looking at your photostream ... Or, if you have Firefox, right click on the photo you want, select 'copy picture location', then paste it into the forum software.

Tomfoolery
You need to delete everything after the 'jpg' bit, otherwise the forum won't recognise it.

Battered636
This is probably a stupid question, but how do I get rid of the CBT status on my profile? There doesn't seem to be way of doing this, am I being thick? Thought I should change it as I've been riding for twenty odd years! Thanks for your help, great forum
