Very much that- I'm midgeproof. They don't bite me but I had one wiggling around my ear driving me insane!🤪

Happy to do another pit stop this time around and possibly do the run in 2023 with something suitably hideous.

Can you drop me that info on an email ? Otherwise I’ll miss it

@johnnymack63 out of interest do you have a tally of all the bikes used for the LDC over the years?

Yeah, I make a note on each years register, so in theory I could go back over them all and tot them all up

That's a disturbing lot of shitters right there.

@stevieweavie's springs to mind as one of the most uncomfortable just to look at let alone ride!

Me too!

Fingers crossed a perfectly viable LDU shitter incoming tomorrow as well. I suspect it'll turn from something that was a nice mid-winter online fantasy to becoming OMFG real very very soon. Which is exactly what's needed.

Looking forwards to getting neck deep in it.

🙂

Hi all, I did it back in 2019 on an FZR. I signed up for this years. But will use a different bike if I am accepted.
Thinking of doing it on 125 or am I mad?

I think if I did it on a 125 I would have lost the will to live before I got to Exeter.

Actually scrub that Before I got to the end of my street heading down to Lands End

@Fatmandid it the first time on a 125, because he's mental, and was escorted across the line by @johnnymack63when his lights failed - they arrived long before many others who got caught in a biblical storm.

It can be done but i think it eould be torture for both rider & machine.

Who's had their email? Loved the bit about taking over the full Premier Inn....what could possibly go wrong?

Cough....will it end in frenzy style carnage or be cocoa and biscuits and an early night?

It'll be a frenzy, but without me  - almost everyone from the 2021 ride can't do it now to give fresh blood a chance. i'll help at the Cirencester stop or might well zoop to help at the Greenock ferry stop for the hell of it and do a leisurely tour round the western highlands for the hell of it anyway.

Aye, I was well up for it this year, but it is not to be. However, hopefully I'll still be getting stuck in as a sweeper-upper in a van and so still involved before a return in 2023!

Anyone else else yet to purchase their bike. Or am I WAY behind on this one? Struggling to find anything £600 or under in some sort of reasonable condition to be ready in time

Facebook marketplace is where I'd be looking, a few times a day though, where are you in the country?

Facebook marketplace can be a gold mine. I got my rotter for £290 and she now has an MOT. (However I’m now having engine troubles I’m trying to diagnose)

Based Leicestershire way. Got an eye on a few on ebay and fb market. Just hoping the ebay ones don't out bid my budget
