The only bike insurance claim I did ever was in 1987 when I wrote off a 500 mile old ginsters cornish pasty van with a gpz550. Please tell him sorry for me?

Don't worry mate, he hates the place.. 87 was the year I moved down here and Ginsters has moved on a little since then,, 😉 You say you wrote the van off, so did the gpz, being kawasaki heavy industries especially back then, end up better off than the van 😂 Edited June 15, 2021 by firebeast

I can see a van approaching at warp speed but there's no chance of my stopping so I gun it out of the junction turning right and aiming to get to the far kerb asap out of his way. As soon as I thought "great, made it!" I got hit and there was a slo mo kaleidoscope of red orange and clear glass... I ended up kneeling on the tank & side panel one handed rodeo style as the bike span round several times and came to a halt about 70 feet down the road. I dragged the bike off the road and the poor van driver, white as a sheet (he'd just seen me materialise from nowhere and then disappear under the van) sat next to me - we were both hysterical with laughter! Bike got officially written off for £1300, more or less what I paid for it, but I bought it back for £350 and got it fully functioning again for £500. Result.
