I've used Keith's tracker to get him right in the Trossacks.

#dadjokes #1970s

He hasn't moved since !

Edit: Keith's on A82 nearing Fort William.

Tony still tracking in Trossacks, but last tracker update 19:21

What a top day.

P3 got v. busy very quickly.

Great to see @heds954again and to meet @Gixfor first time.

I couldn't chat to some of the riders individually, was quite busy with the lube (stop it) and adjusting chains. One chain (on a Divi I think) had the tension of a piano wire and was pretty hot.

We went through just short of 5L of oil!

Hayleys bike was a bit of a challenge. I said the chain's a bit slack and her response was "that's the least of its fucking problems". She stayed for ~45 minutes and left a huge smokescreen on leaving.

I'm a bit weary, God only knows what the riders are feeling like.

This is what the riders saw as they left.

Martin Pitt, Peter Clyne, Michael Taylor, Stuart Townsend and Hayley Bell all fed watered and on the 2100 ferry. Pete's tyre was a funny shape...

I was looking at her bike at P1, and thinking "that'll be in the van before P2". I've been crossing my fingers for her all day. She's a tough woman, no doubt about it.

I'm really hoping that Hayley can get to the finish, for starters, she's our first female of the species to take part, secondly, she's a lovely person, thirdly, she's vowed to get more wimmin taking part. :tacheemoticonwh7:

She was so laid back it was untrue.

We put a litre of oil in, did the chain, taped up some live wires touching the forks and kept saying to Hayley come on your bike's good to go, but she wasn't moving till she was ready.

Apparently she's moving to California, so it won't take long to settlle in.

Ah, of course! Balls.

Not the first time I was wrong, and won't be the last.

Looks like Simon is on a mission. Not racing you understand, because it's not a race so he can't win :D

James and Dan followed him out around 21.40

I notice Si left at 2112. Any excuse :D

I'm still glad I'm not doing it again.

But this does drive home how long the day is.

Well done all

And as others have said, you still have to get home again.

We've had our first official retirement, Paul Dwyer's bike has died. Both bike and rider now safe in the support van.

In other news, £31k :D

The ride home was the nail in the coffin of my road riding.

I rode just once after that.

I think PB's own Caz might take exception to that......

I remember her almost getting emotional at a breakdown somewhere in Yorkshire (I think). I did my best to lend support and prodded at bits of the bike while @MadManMiles did some fettling, fired it up and she was right back on it - another tough lady

Tracker

It stopped working in Exeter. I had a call at P3 to tell me and we checked for power, continuity, etc., then disconnected a USB port (not part of the device) which seems to have 'fixed it'.

Looks like Hayley is out as well, the bike has finally died after limping along for hours. She'll be collected by the support van soon.

Shout out to the folks from Pitstop 4 who looked after our riders. Many of you will recognise Jez, one of the stalwarts of the LDD, whose old LDD bike is currently leading :)

Thank you so much folks :)
