Marb
Anyone know where you can get affordable anti-slosh foam for fuel tanks?
blow_away
I wouldn't bother with it Marb. It breaks down and blocks the fuel pump :-(
Marb
Ah, ok. Right. That's another thing too criss off the list. But really? Didn't know that
Cibbersicks
Kanerdog or Mark/Foggy might come along and put me right, but I'm sure there's some foam around that doesn't break down. Don't think its cheap, mind.
Marb
What i can find over here is about 50 euros for 10 liters and that is in 5 by 5 by 5 cm blocks.

Toneale
I run tank foam in my fireblade with no adverse effects. The trick is to buy it it one block and cut to size with as few "bits" as possible. Its the rubbing together of the little pieces that causes it to break down. Mark/Foggy
Hi Marb, try and get hold of Zweitze Roosk, he's the man for contacts over there. Ethanol does have an impact on the cheaper stuff, blue seems worst, check that it's E45 friendly (guess that's what you'll have to put up with in the Bakker) and it should stay good for a couple of years. Our's seems ok with lead aditive as well, though I haven't bought some for a while.

Adam
Anyone know where to get 60mm silicon or aluminium elbows that don't cost a fortune? Just for the cooling system and intercooler on my sisters Defender.
Mark/Foggy
The ASH stuff all over Fleabay is good enough and cheap as I've found.
kanerdog1x1
i can get 60mm aluminium bends, but unfortunately the do cost a fortune. you sure its 60mm? 57mm(1-1/4) and 63.5mm(1-1/2) are much more common.

kaighn80
There's a place not far from me that do silicone and bits in various sizes, I'll get the info and edit this post. http://www.advancedfluidsolutions.co.uk/silicone-hose-tubings-32-c.asp Kanerdog1x1, what's the score with the fuel foam your company sells, and how does it stand up to breaking down? As per previous comments ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ edited to add link to place Edited December 30, 2014 by kaighn80
kanerdog1x1
its £8.50 a gallon, and as long as you fit it in one or two big chunks it wont break down. it only breaks down it if rubs together or is able to travel inside the tank. some places sell it in half litre blocks, but thats no good as itll just rub itself up the wrong way and disintegrate. we like to sell it in as close to the final shape as possible. iv performed autopsy on a few old tanks, the oldest was dated 2002, so was exactly ten years old at the time. the foam was faded a bit, but the foam was all intact, and felt the same as new. i kept it for a while, i was going to put it in the ducati tank, but ended up throwing it out when we moved premises... sennidott
The actual cap itself look suspiciously like the ones fitted to Honda RS125 NX4 and late Honda RS250 NX5/NXA. You can still buy them from Honda or from IanE Racing for (maybe?) half the price... http://www.iane.co.uk/store/moto-3/nsf250r-parts-and-kit-parts/filler-cap/prod_262.html It's a start I suppose? Timbo S2
And if you really want to do the jub properly on hoses tryhttp://www.hcl-clamping.co.uk/ Particularly these tingshttp://www.hcl-clamping.co.uk/Ezyclik-M-Low-Profile-Automotive-Hose-Clip-P3 available in a vast range of sizes and they're reuseable. Mark, Question - why are these ear clamps bettwer than normal worm drive clips? Any particular reason?
gurninman
Are they just a sideline to the Pizzas ? http://www.oetker.co.uk/uk-en/our-products/pizza/ristorante/overview.html
Mark/Foggy
Mark, Question - why are these ear clamps bettwer than normal worm drive clips? Any particular reason? Constant tension, re-useable and you never have to check them for tightness. Worm drive clips dig in and get misaligned due to tensioning torque. R-Clicks will go on for years if you treat them nicely. There's a determined need will to check fasteners for tightness, particularly in paddocks and particularly when fluids are on the other side. Keep clamping a worm drive and something will burst either the hose or just as likely the hose clip. Best example that I can remember is GM getting thrown over a wall at the NW a few years ago, hose clamp failure, standard Yamaha clip, water on back tyre. You'll not get away with many of those. Manufacturers fit them as anti-tamper, or rather did, until everbody figured out that the installation tool also disinstalls. try here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380798612974 Investment that I'm about to make.
Mark/Foggy
The trickest hose clamps in the world... Oetiker stepless constant tension. D & K supplies can supply small quantities (dave@dandksupplies.co.uk 0800 092 1958). I've just taken delivery of 16 of them for the SV, £42 delivered. When you've got them in your hand Mike, could you confirm the thread size and whether there's room for the fastener to pass through the back of the clip. I'm after making some QD carb mounts ala the Suzuki XRO clamp set.

monkeyfumi
I used to hate the ear clamps, until I bought a proper tool for them, with this they are great. Tried to order form Mark/Foggy's link, but they don't ship to Australia. (got a comedy quote of 55 pounds shipping for 30 pounds worth of stuff, no thanks, found an alternative)

You can also get this stuff in various sizes here, bit expensive but good stuff is. http://www.cablecraft.co.uk/protect/cable-sleeving-protection/braided-sleevings.html I just ordered 5m of the 18mm id stuff it expands to 50mm ish, cost me 28 quid inc postage of a fiver, but it will come in on my projects and is a neat solution.
