All Of The Good Stuff.

I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread where we could share all of the sources of those little pieces that you see on race bikes/specials, in magazines etc.. that you might not be able to find. That little plastic clip you saw on a bike at a BSB meeting five years ago, and try as you might you may never find out where to get them from.....

Word spamming is king in this thread, so if you could add a link for a supplier, perhaps a pic, and a description so that the search tool can do it thing efficiently.

Many pm'd me at the time about these dry break connectors, mine were from http://www.hosefit.c...roducts_id=1024 They have been on the bike now for 18 months, trouble free. apparently they are interchangeable with the staubli version too, which could be handy.

Phase one and others use these little quick release sets on their fuel tank breathers. Available from most bike shops via bike-it, tho ebay is usually far cheaper. Search 'fuel quick connector'.

I like these panduit cable ties, similar to T&B/Thomas&Betts. From http://www.expressel... Barb Ties (BT)

Nice little brase/weld on hose guides. I used to annoy the local pushbike shop for these, but you can order them direct. http://www.framebuilding.com/what.htm Word search the page for '200', and '201' for the rivet on alloy ones.

If anyone has anything to add, then please do. Knowledge is power, and the devil is in the detail.

Nice one. They do a few little bits on there, the price of those drum brake hubs is staggering.

These are the little rubber/silicon grommets that appear on a multitude of Ducatis. On the road bikes they are on the exhaust mounts and radiator mounts, and on the race bikes they are everywhere. Ducati part number is :- 76410241A

I find them useful elsewhere too, would be handy to mount instruments properly, to isolate a breather tank or even possibly the fuel tank. I used them on Gary Inmans oil cooler too.

Remember to check OE prices before you buy.

I needed new disc rotor mounting screws for the R1, the aftermarket suppliers were asking stupid amounts, second-hand ones on e-bay were £15 for a set of 10.

I was passing Fowlers so I called in to check, OE ones were 68 pence each.

I bought 20 :biggrinvk4:

Brembo part number 10.4446.70 A web search will throw up dozens of suppliers, I got mine from PDQ. Any bike shop should be able to supply them.

Yup, got quite a few of them on mine.

Great idea - I have a list somewhere I kept of most of the little trinkets on the CBR, will have to find it out.

Would anyone happen to know if you can get starter button switchgear that just has the starter button so you can junk the bulky stock switchgear with unneeded controls for a trackbike.

I have found this place good for hose clips etc (does small quantities, which helps)

http://www.advancedf...solutions.co.uk

And if you really want to do the jub properly on hoses try

http://www.hcl-clamping.co.uk/

Particularly these tings

http://www.hcl-clamping.co.uk/Ezyclik-M-Low-Profile-Automotive-Hose-Clip-P3

available in a vast range of sizes and they're reuseable.

Not really parts but I thought it would be useful here. I was looking for a place to have some parts anodised.

Most of the parts were just black but a few, namely the wheel spacers and cam chain tensioner needed hard anodising.

I picked bits up after about a week and I was thoroughly impressed with the results.

The five spacers, CCT, clip-on clamps and tubes, and the top yoke cost £30 to have done.

The company I used was called the Premier Plating Company

http://premierplating.co.uk/

Absolutely brilliant to deal with.

All good stuff in this thread so far, I've just ordered a load of clips and clamps from HCL

I'm looking for a quick release fuel coupling similar to this one, but I need hose barbs rather than threaded end fittings. It's for a carb'd bike so there is no requirement for a high pressure rating.

Any recommendations?

Anyone know where to get small banjo fittings?

I haven't check the banjo bolt thread yet but it looks like 5mm

But could be something like 3/16 UNC as the thread looks very course.

mountain bikes use either m6 or m8 banjos, most common by far is the m6x1. used by hope, shimano, avid, hayes.... any good bike shop would carry spares from the manufacturer, and also offer aftermarket brake line kits from hel/goodridge/clarkes/hope etc.. or here:- http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/goodridge-hose-connector-m6-1-0-banjo-bolt/rp-prod20449

a friend found some nice wiring over braid stuff whilst on holiday in antigua, lucky bastard. its just like the polyester overbraid stuff from maplin/rs/ebay, but its split so you can feed it on afterwards, tres handy. i just found something similar on ebay and bought some for 'testing':- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Top-of-the-range-professional-wire-covering-/350630074866?pt=UK_DIY_Materials_Plumbing_MJ&var=&hash=item51a32e59f2

the actual stuff he has is from 'techflex', and is the 'f6' range.
