kma55
Bit of a basic question... Looking at moving the position of the gear lever and the Haynes manual is saying the circlip on the lever pivot should be replaced with a new one. How important is this? Will it get deformed if I take it off, or can it just be reused? Don't have one spare, so would mean just mean a slight delay in doing this. Swarf
Personally, if it doesn't massively deform I'd reuse, done it loads of times. Replace later for peace of mind, they are pennies.
TLRS
What a waste to throw something like that away..
blow_away
Lockwire it after installation.
kma55
It was quite loose putting it back on so I just squeezed it back into shape with some pliers. Should be ok until my ebay ones turn up.
Mark/Foggy
Simple answer to this is do you have the correct tool. If you have something that fits well and you treat it with respect, all fasteners can be reused. If you have to butcher it, you need a new one.
