A49 gets a bit twisty between Dorrington & Bayston Hill, stay away from the hedges. Don't go too quickly in the villages - seen mobile camera sites in them quite frequently. On the A5/A483 there are plenty of parking spots for speed camera vans. Lots of decent stretches where you can make progress, just keep an eye open for them. johnnymack63
I think so. Not by much. Last year was 974 I think. It’s the first one over 1k miles. Three countries, a ferry, a tunnel and a big bridge. kinda wish I was doing it (on a bike).

Everytime I've been on the A483 between Oswestry and Chester there has been a camera van on a bridge overhead.

That's awesome. mine reckoned it was 1150 as I had the palaver of collapsed wheel bearings In other news - Paul Dwyer collected the CB1 of justice this morning. He is a very nice dude indeed and finding out he doesn't really ride on the road much was amusing indeed. he'll love this one I am sure!
CRM
Well i can offer a pit stop service support van around the Chester / Wrexham route if it helps. I am willing to park up somewhere on route with refreshments, food, bog roll, a dog, some spares etc So @johnnymack63 bear that in mind if its of use in the master plan
hawkati
This is the route I was looking for. Glen Coe & loch ness - excellent routes, maybe blighted by tourists but that's just a target rich environment. Done it many times and can't wait for this. Cheers! As you know, I can't commit to anything with the wee ones due around that time. If they have been born and everything is OK with them and my wife, then I could help, but we'll need someone that can definitely do it. I've got the day booked off (for now, until work realise :D ) but we'll need some more hands (and probably sort out transport, since the Subaru's out of commission...) It's going to be a right 'un for the folks o'er East Crackin' roads though (I remember from when I lived on the West Coast) 1

By the time you reach there it should be pretty quiet. Roads are generally very quiet in the evenings ( and mornings). Just hope you get the weather we had last year.

The run from Dunoon to Tarbet was epic. Tarbet to the Green Welly was a bit dodgy with the tourist buses taking up all the road. If needed, I can help with a stop north of Preston. This was taken on the A78 somewhere near Ardrossan.
