And now we've held and lost the Ranfurly shield after the shortest ever tenure. Fuck knuckles. So, in brief, the pikey swarf collecting idea was to put a magnet in a plastic bag, skootch it around the workshop floor, then hold it over a Bucket and take the magnet out of the bag.
