Wondering if anyone has taken a standard frame or swingarm and bits and rubbed them back to get that factory race bike look?

If so how did you do it and got any pics?

just get them de anodized most anodizing places can do this for very little. :icon_salut:...dont get sanding it off, will take ages.... and to be honest we have a few parts de anodized and it looks the nuts, comes back black just wash this off with soapy water and then just give alight scotch over with super fine scoth pad and it will look just like the factory/works frames.

I used a wire wheel on a drill. Took ages, doesnt get into all the nooks and crannies (its ok from a distance though, which is fine for a race bike) It also gives a heavier brushing to the finish. I finished it off with B&Q cheapass medium/fine grit sanding pads. looks good, but will look miles better done the Sie way. ;)

Jamie is the de anodizing something you could sort when I drop other bits down for powder coat? I have plenty of Scotch pads at work to finish it

And I take it the new head race bearings that haven't long been fitted would need replacing if de anodized process is used?

I have visions of factory looking frame and a braced gsxr1000 swingarm on me 600

I just used nitromors, which ripped through the shite Kawasaki powdercoat pretty easily. A couple of goes with autosol and a rag, and then finish it off with a fine grade scotchbrite pad.

I tried Nitromorse on my Honda swingarm - wouldn't even touch the plating, neither would industrial grade paintstripper. I ended up starting to do it by hand but soon realised that I wouldn't get into all the nooks and crannies and I wouldn't be happy with the finish, so I took it to an aluminium dipping company in the west midlands who specialise in removing the finish on alloy wheels.

It came back completely bare, but the finish was heavily marred by the aggressive solution they'd used. I then had plates welded in place on the swingarm, which also marred the finish so it was attacked with scotchbrite, came up looking fantastic!
