MonkeyJim Posted September 22, 2008 Report Share Posted September 22, 2008 this is only the third session of the day so I'm following my mate Pete on his R6 and me are taking it easy. clip 1A: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mGIf38KFRFk At about 5.00 minutes into clip 1A a fucking eejit in black & yellow leathers on a GSXR-1000 cuts me up good & proper. I overtake him but he comes past us both again at 6.00 minutes. The session continues in Clip 1B [youtube is limited to 10mins per clip] I'm no longer following my mate and catch up with the guy on the Gixxer Thou in the yellow & black leathers. I catch him at 1m50s into the second clip. Watch it & see what happens next!!!!!!!!!!!! clip 1B: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=RU2sfdHcHAw That was a PROPER brown trousers moment. Pretty much flat stick in 3rd, cranked over through Starkeys [?] and the back end lets go. I must've have inadvertantly brushed the 'eject' button on the handlebars, or something. You can see the rev lights illuminate as the back spins up as it loses grip. I cannot deny that for a moment I thought 'fuck, this is it, I'm a gonner' but luckily it all happened so fast I didn't even have time to do anything daft, like shut the throttle. That would have been a mother of a huge highside, I reckon. Thankfully it all sorted itself out, praise be to Lord Ohlins [Norse God of steering dampers] and I carried on.
