Can anyone tell me what they use to tighten head race bearings up with?

Im wanting to take the guess work out of tightening them up, and a hammer and screwdriver just wont cut it!

Was going to buy this unless anyone comes up with a better idea -

Obviously, you can't get a torque wrench on it, but I use one of these things, and it'll do a job on your shock too.

The one you have shown can be used from bike to bike, whereas the one I was looking at is yamaha specific, so the C spanner one may be a better buy.

Is that the exact one you have lorenzo i.e 19 - 51mm, and its a good fit/ideal size for the job?

Ive noticed they do a 32 - 76mm one too, aswell as a 51 - 121mm.

If you look at the listers other items for sale you will see he does many models and various tools. What bike is it for? why not give him a shout?

Its for a 2000 R1. The links you have posted are exactly the same ones that I have in my OP, but thanks for looking all the same.

I like the idea of it, but after seeing what lorenzo posted up Im thinking that an adjustable C spanner is probably the better option as I can use it on various different bikes.

SCHTOP! [grolsh style]

I have one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-R1-HEAD-RACE-TOOL-STEERING-SOCKET-CASTLE-NUT-HANDLEBAR-CLIP-FORK-yb-/260955636064?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item3cc22b0160

that I bought for my 4xv. Used once, very handy it was too. As new condition.

but now surplus to requirements. I now need a suzuki one instead.

yours for ten of your english pounds, including P&P.

I bought the 2 sizes at the same time, prob the smaller one and the middle one, at the stafford show I think, somebody had a deal on the 2 of them. To be honest, either of them fit headstocks, the bigger one that i have will do shocks much more easily, the smaller one's only just about big enough. If I bought just one, it'd be the bigger of the 2, which is the middle one of the range, if you see what i mean. Wait a bit and I'll have a look in the garage before I go to work, see if I can see a size on it.

Lorenzo, thanks. Ive gone and bought a 19 - 50mm one, and a 32 - 75mm one.

Monkey! - Thank you for the offer but Ive gone with a more universal tool that I can use from bike to bike.

Cheers guys.
