it's easy. No, really, I've done it a couple of times before. And it helps to know that you can remove the nosecone & access the clocks without having to resort to removing the side panels & bellypan too.

here's the rough order of things.... this is from memory so I hope I haven't missed anything out!

remove 2x faux-carbon infill panels from below the brake & clutch levers. Disconnect indicators on both sides & large white connector block on LHS [this connects front loom to main loom]

undo 2x quick release fasteners on the top of each side of the middle fairing panels where they fit to nosecone.

undo 2x plastic pop fasteners [push in centre, then remove whole] located on the inside, underneath and behind the headlights, that also hold nosecone to middle fairing panels.

undo 2x nuts that hold front subframe onto headstock. Carefully while supporting nosecone, withdraw the double bolt that holds front subframe onto headstock.

now the nosecone should come away in one whole section. Don't drop it!!! Now you can:

remove the 2x nuts on each side holding the mirrors. remove mirrors.

undo 4x screws holding front subframe to the nosecone*. subframe and clocks will come away from nosecone. as you remove it, you'll need to reach in & disconnect the clocks from the front loom. This can be fiddly and TBH you may find it easier just to remove the screen as well [6 screws] as then access is much easier for this.

undo 3x screws that hold clocks onto subframe*. You should now have just the clocks in your hand. 3x screws hold the two halves of the clocks together.

Once separated, the bulbs are easily changed!!! it's a push &/or twist fitting. The bulbs are very small. Yamaha don't list the bulbs as a spare part though most bike dealers will sell them. From memory, you want 1.4w bulbs - there are a few available of the same size but different wattages.

as it says in the Haynes manual, refitting is the reverse of removal!!

*be careful when refitting the 3x screws that hold the clocks to the front subframe, and the 4x screws that hold the frame onto the back of the nosecone. They are easily cross-threaded.

HTH cheers :eusa_whistle:
