Hendo
Do any of the forum members who have done this swap know what type of bearings you put in the headstock? Need to order some from simplybearings (or see if work has any I can pinch!) but I havnt a clue what type/codes they are. Its 5PW yokes into a 5JJ if it makes any difference. Hendo
Got it sussed. For referance if anyone else ever searches for this the bearings are (from simplybearings.co.uk)- Bottom - 32006JRRS (Rubber Sealed Bottom) Top - 32006JR Both bearings are 55mm outside diameter. 30mm inside diameter. 17mm tall. I measured the old bearings. Cheers.
MonkeyJim
are you replacing like for like, ie with caged metal ball bearings? when I* put 5pw yokes onto my 4xv I took the opportunity to change the head bearings to taper needle roller jobbies or whatever they are called. apparently they are betterer *when I say 'I' what i really mean is mark white of M&M
Hendo
...taper needle roller jobbies... The ones Ive quoted from simply bearings most certainly are these. As a side note Monkey, did everything swap over ok? Was it only the brake line holder that wouldnt? Cheers
