wazrs257
Is there any real reason to use flanged nuts for rear sprockets, rather than a stainless flat washer and nyloc nut? These are £20 for six: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PRO-BOLT-SPROCKET-NU...=item255da7520d Where as, stainless nylocs are £6 for six and washers are ten a penny! Am I just penny pinching? Superdunc
Not as blingy as the probolt stuff, but these will do the job as well as anything. http://merlinmotorsport.co.uk/product_info...medium=Shopping

But why the need for a flange nut at all?
Tony B
Fair comment. But why the need for a flange nut at all? This seems to explain the reason...
wazrs257
This seems to explain the reason... Nice one, thanks. A set of Probolt stainless flanged nuts it is then!
Tony B
Nice one, thanks. A set of Probolt stainless flanged nuts it is then! No problem. Love the last line... wazrs257
"The sensible approach is to replace like fasteners with like fasteners; unless you are feeling lucky." I think it depends on the application. I replaced the standard flanged rear sprocket bolts on my 60bhp Aprilia RS257 with stainless cap heads & washers, and had no problems. But these are going on a 135bhp GSXR7/11, so I'd rather not take any chances with 'luck'!
originalracingsnake
But these are going on a 135bhp GSXR7/11 Is it only running on 3 then?
wazrs257
It isn't running on any at the moment!:
