ultrasound
First post so straight in with a question! I have a 929 blade for commuting with OE heated grips. Having trouble with intermittent working, the grips heat up but its unpredictable some times nothing! it correct they will switch off when the battery is low/charging. Battery seems okay, charging test is in spec. optimate occasionally gives a "weak" result. Any ideas?
lorenzo
Either your battery is on its last leg, the charging system isn't so healthy or perhaps there's a loose connection on the grips, possibley on the internal cabling.

The charging system is within spec and bike rides and starts okay so battery seems sound
ronenige
Check the charging when the bike has been run for a while ,they are often ok till the regrec gets hot

ultrasound
Had a "fun" day today after my heated grips packed up completely! Took the whole front fairing off and chopped out and replaced a dodgy connector on one of the grips and cleaned up the terminals on the front brake switch where they take the power from. The in line fuse is working so fingers crossed. Don't Know if the grips work yet as couldn't run the bike, too dark and the dip bulb is blown! Couple of questions though, the front brake switch positive is about 0.3volts less than battery voltage is that okay? There is 3 mA of current leak from the battery (0.2mA Spec)! Is this causing grip problems, Anyone know where to start looking for the cause of this, and is a new battery worth a try.
