daytonaman
Help! My ZX7 decided to break down today.Fine the 2 miles to petrol station. Filled up wouldn't start. Ignition on, no idiot lights, nothing. Pushed it home and on way back idiot lights came on briefly.I managed to bump start it,but no lights anything. At home, with bike still running turned lights on and motor died. Checked battery,12.8v across terminals. Going to charge battery overnight but thinkig could be ignition? Any ideas? szrdave
It could be a bit of corrosion in the switchgear. It's worth 10 mins to pull it apart and clean the contacts if only to rule it out.
Mr.Pigdog
Like you say-i'd be checking the ignition connector block below the tank-they can corrode badly

daytonaman
Cheers for the advice. Took every connector apart and cleaned them and protected them. Local bike shop tested battery and advised technically "its fooked mate" Got a new one to insatall after late turn so....fingers crossed
