Cibbersicks
We've got a set of those at work and neither me or my colleague can get on with it, find it too fiddly and sensitive and difficult to set up from different bike to bike. We use this and it's absolutely brilliant: The machined frame hangs from the fulcrum of the frame (swingarm pivot for those who don't know) and fires the laser to the silver plates which are fitted to each side of the wheel. You can use this not only for chain alignment on the rear, but to check the forks, frame and swingarm for bends/twists. We are looking into getting this Maxton equipment soon as well, expensive, but very worth it in our trade:

alexp5
Do Maxton still do the 'Ron-ometer'? I've got me own (cheap) version... an 8 foot length of extruded aluminium I-beam. Does the job. You can also climb up it to clean windows

Do you check the wheels are lined up between the van abd the caravan before you set off?
Mark/Foggy
For that professional, last degree of accuracy, fast and value for money option. Phase One Endurance recommend The Bridgwater Laser. Has been in the teams possesion for many years, there is some dispute as to whether it's imperial or metric
