DAMO666 Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Took my GSXR600 k1 race bike out of the shed for a quick service before before track day season, fired up first time, warmed the engine then dropped the oil. It was quite emulsified but put it down to condensation and a cold winter, then dropped the water. Thought i would leave the oil to drain as long as possible so started to add fresh water with a bit of antifreeze in. once the rad was about 3/4 full water started to run out of the sump drain. I've replaced the water pump seals and by passed the oil cooler but its still doing it. I'm starting to think the block has cracked cause of having just water in and a very cold winter. just wondering if any has any other ideas before i strip the motor.
DAMO666 Posted April 25, 2010 Author Report Posted April 25, 2010 Surely the water would escape from the block if a core plug had gone and not the sump?
