MonkeyJim
If so does anyone have pictures of how they have been made captive? yes they are captive spacers - well they are on mine, but I'm guessing that's common across all their wheels this is the only pic I've got handy. The spacers form part of the hub
David W
It's always a source of headscratching the motorbike manufacturers still don't do this on standard wheels.
porter_jamie
yep, all the dymags we have have captive spacers, they are ally tophats pressed into the bearing (so the bearing i/d has to be bigger than the spindle diameter)
speedy sie
got them on my wheel, ill send you some pics if you want?
will#224
got them on my wheel, ill send you some pics if you want? Please. I have a rough idea of how they've done it. I've seen a wheel recently with a top hat spacer and a circlip holding the top hat to the bearing. Seemed to work well and an easy fix but essentially the larger bearing ID and spacer pressed into seems like a simple option too.
speedy sie
no the insert(top hat)goes in to the iner race of the bearing(wich is over sized iner diamiter to acomidate the insert)then the same on the iner spacer(between the two bearings),then the same on the other bearing,in esance samwedgeing the bearing to the forks,or swaing arm.then the pin goes through to compleat the proces. circlip?
