billysbones Posted February 19, 2010 Report Share Posted February 19, 2010 Putting the tank back on the SP1 tonight, and when I come to put the main fuel line banjo back on, I noticed that the manual insists that new sealing washers are used. Fair enough. The old ones look like aluminium, but the only ones I have to hand are copper. Will this matter? The copper ones are exactly the right size and thickness, but wanted to know if the copper will react with the fuel. I have never heard of it, but wanted to be certain, before I fill it with fuel. bezzer Posted February 19, 2010 Report Share Posted February 19, 2010 Copper will be fine with petrol, just anneal the washers before you use them to make sure they are soft enough to seal properly.
