Mate suggests waterproof grease such as Castrol CL as it won't wash out like lithium soap grease. Has anyone used waterproof grease on their needle roller bearings? David W Posted February 1, 2010 Report Share Posted February 1, 2010 I use the Silkolene Red Racing Grease (forgot the name of it but it's not the stuff you use on brake calipers). It's a bit of a throwback to my offroad days I guess. Works a treat and doesn't wash off at all between rebuilds but comes off easy enough with degreaser.
