Harvey Mushman Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 That is the coolest thing I have ever seen! And you can just tell that Jay was so close to whipping his old lad out right there and then, he was that impressed lol.
rusty Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 That's an awesome piece of kit. I want one....I've absolutely no idea what I'd do with it but I still want one
Spike16 Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 That dimension machine is just a rapid prototyper, theirs nothing really special about that their pritty common, the US army use them so they dont have to keep a stock of parts for their tanks, if one breaks they can rapid prototype a replacement then and their, obvioulsly can only be done on certain parts. I also have a pic of the BMW world superbike at this years show and was suprised to see the left switch gear with all the tc and map controls is rapid prototyped. that scanner is interesting tho, I wonder how accurate it is
jaycee Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 It really is like The Jetsons as he said, the future is now!
rossm Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 That rocks, be great for getting bike bodywork done
Harry Muff Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 The wrench impressed me the most. I want to scan a 1198R!
Gret Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 I've known about rapid prototypers/3D printers for a while, but I had no idea that they could do complex, moving systems. I thought maybe just a single solid piece, but moving preassembled pieces, thats crazy. Now if only they could print out of metal or carbon fiber.
fredie Posted January 5, 2010 Author Report Posted January 5, 2010 they can do it in a number of materials on the same 1 item. layers. and some metals
