Animated avatar

Help I am pulling what is left of my hair out......

I have an animated avatar but I cant get it to animate on the forum.

A few people have animated ones (basil's springs to mind for some reason ) so I know it can be done.

My avatar is the right size as it is here,

But it is not moving, do I have to change some settings or something?

Any suggestions greatly received..

Whats the file size? IIRC avatars cant be larger than 100k

Ahhhhh it is 120kb can I reduce that then? if so how?

Nope, tried another that is just 12kb and that doesnt work either....... Damnit!

My current avatar is a gif, within the size and file size limits, yet it only shows animated in my profile page, in posts it doesn't move. Is there something i'm missing?

Nope, animated avatars were disabled in one of the forum software updates IIRC, something to do with simpler, faster running forum (again, IIRC)
