Harvey Mushman
My NC30 project has a polished frame (not my doing!) and swingarm. I hate it so want to know if it can be powder coated over? I am imagining issues with the powder not sticking but as it's not urgent I can't be bothered to actual contact a powder coater and ask them. Anybody on here know? blow_away
It should not be a problem on two counts a) the powder has an electrostatic charge to make it stick to the metal and b - they will generally blast clean the surface before coating see here http://www.realitymotorworks.com/Powder%20...r%20coating.htm
will#224
They will shot blast it first to ensure a good key and clean it. If you like the origional finish, none polished then maybe vapour blasting or scotch brite might return a more acceptable finish
Harvey Mushman
Now you mention it, my preferred finish would be like factory or perhaps a little duller like race bikes.
drunkn munky
I scotchbright'd a polished NC frame and it looked the nuts. You just have to be carefull and keep it going in one direction instead of random rubbing. Couldnt tell you what grade i used tho, i brought some recently that wouldnt even mark a poished frame....shit in other words.
