DAMO666
Anyone got access to a microfiche or link to a website for yamaha part numbers. Bought some genuine yamaha exup cables of the bay and they were listed as 89 FZR1000 exup, but i can't set them correctly, starting to think they are for something else. Part numbers 3GM 1133E-01 and 3GM 1133F-01.

DAMO666
yep they are correct going by that link, thanks. Thing is when you set it as per the manual in either closed or open positions there is loads of slack in one of the cables, too much to take out with the adjusters. I've even tried swapping them over but its the same.
alexp5
Have you stripped and cleaned the exup valve itself, and made sure that it fully cycles?
DAMO666
Think i've got to the route of the problem, the cable holders on the exhaust have corroded and one mounting has sheared off leaving it about 10 mm closer to the pulley giving the impression the cables are too long. Don't fancy removing the exhaust and trying to weld it back on though!
