Curly68 Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 I have just bought a s/h frame for my ZX6G2 but it has come through with a KAZX600JJA0089** which leads me to believe its for a J model. How can I find out? I'm sure the G engine will fit but have just bought a s/h tank and rad for the G model. Not bothered about bodywork as everything is trashed and its going into streetfighter mode now!
fran9r Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Maybe not...all my C model ZX9Rs have E1 on them somewhere -but they are C models, because the subframe is part of the frame. Kawasaki numbering at it's finest! G and J frames are (virtually) the same anyway arn't they? I'd guess the rad and tank fit both.
reservoircogs Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 the G and J bone is the same, the only parts that differ on the G and J are different office and nost cone, different bars , swingarm and subframe.Front spindle size was different too from memory. It all fits together. You can hpi the chassis number to get the reg if you've not got it.
fran9r Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Pretty much the same for the 9R C/E then. It'll be reet!
Ascalon Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 If you can get hold of a Haynes manual, there is a listing there from memory, of the various iterations and their frame number ranges. A
