thefatman
How much of a bad idea is this? A bad one or will I lose a leg to it. I've got a 525 chain and sprockets, and have a spare front spocket which is 520.

Wouldn't do it miself, not considerig that people get hurt when bikes go wrong , compared to the price of a 525 front sprocket I'd just get it right and be done with it.
