JBond Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 I seem to remember reading that a GSXR750K4/5 tank will fit on a GSXR1000K3/4 and some people do this because they like the smaller tank shape. I'm curious about the opposite. Fitting a 1000 tank on a 750 for greater fuel range. Do you think this would work and would be easy? The GSXR750K4/5 tank is all metal, right? You've probably guessed I don't actually own the 750 yet. Anyone got a low mileage GSXR750K5 for sale, any colour except yellow?
Fireskull Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 It does fit, have done so on mine, was not aware the 1000 tank had a bigger capacity though? I only fit it on quickly to see if It did, but on the 750 tank it has dips at the sides, where as the 1000 tank does not and they sit close to the frame so when riding not sure if they might rub or not, need to get my tank painted then I can give it a go If you look at the pic below, where the warning sticker on the frame is the gap above, when you fit the 1000 tank there is no gap there anymore.
