I really like Mr J Robinson technical articles.

I have his 2 stroke tuning book somewhere.

I have the chassis one, keep meaning to get the full set of his books

I've the full set of the JR books. They're not too bad second hand now, but have been ridiculously priced in the past.

I quite liked his approach to explaining things, he made it quite accessible.

That article looks every one of it's 37 years.

Which scares me.

I did start working out how old I was when that issue came out, and stopped. It's a Sunday, no need to depress myself!

Graham Bell's book on 2 stroke tuning is also worth a read, if you've not got it. It's a harder read, but a great resource to tap into a topic in more detail.

i have the graham bell book somewhere. i used to love john robinsons articles, a truly clever bloke who made things easy to understand for the average thicko. the kr1s series he did on that bike they raced in f400 supercup was good. basiclly just finding power and reliabilty by matching things and making sure everything was toleranced. different length barrlls on a one piece head was a big thing.

IIRC, it was peppered with pithy yet humourous digs at Stephen Marlow, mostly centred around his profound ability to throw the bike up the track, at the most inopportune time.
