Rob Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Well, Friday evening has arrived and at the end of a long week and a long wait in general I was hoping to pick up my TZR after an engine rebuild. However, some seven months down the line, having been generally put to the back of what must be a long queue, and all of a sudden unable to contact said re-builder, so I don't get to enjoy it/run it in over the weekend. Cancelled the hire van, and am now moping round the garage looking rather bare apart from 2 newly powdercoated wheels with brand new battleaxe tyres on them. Hard to put into words just how frustrated/disappointed I am. Likewise, the company that advertised via ebay a caliper refurbing service. 21st of May 2008, complete brake system dispatched to them for powdercoating, refurbing and general rebuilding. 1. Email to chase. 2. Reply - waiting on some seals/parts. 3. Goto to point 1 4. Repeat ad-bloody-infinitum. Leave people alone to get on with it and get nowhere. Phone them from time to time and be looked upon as a pest. Anyway, I got it off my chest Robbie.
bikemike Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 I know how you feel. August last year I purchased a zxr400 usd fork conversion for my Kr-1s from someone on another forum. The guy who sold it sent half the stuff almost immediately but the other half was being posted by a friend of his. 9 months later I am still waiting, despite several promises of "I'll post it this week" I now can't contact him at all as apparently "he's having some problems at home" I'm fairly confident I will get it eventually but it is holding up my project badly. Rob Posted May 23, 2009 Author Report Posted May 23, 2009 Hi Mike, Well, believe it or not, I got a call today and it's ready. Trouble is, I cannot find anyone to hire a van from at 2pm. Got somebody that can lend me his van, but I don't have my own insurance, only on the company insurance policy. Now have to wait till next Saturday. The rear brake caliper is ready, but the HEL line I requested is not there, and the master cylinder refurb is a non-starter because he can't get the seals for it - took 11 months to find that one out! I've now got to find a compatible/replacement one for the 2ma. Mind you, there are always some pleasant surprises - I had a visitor from my website who, after exchanging a couple of emails about his bike and stuff, asked me if I could buy something from Ebay and send it to him in Canada as the seller was UK only. Very dubious, but the item was very little value (postage was more than the item if I recall). Send it all off, and a couple of weeks later a very large flat piece of cardboard arrived at the house. I open it up, and aswell as a nice thank-you letter, the guy has sent me a full decal set for my 2ma in return. There are some good people out there. Hope you bits make it to you eventually! Robbie.

A well known two stroke tuner who resides in the north west and is quite involved in the racing scene up here, i sent him, no actually i delivered my RGV engine to have the squish settings set up despite me asking him to have them ready as my next meeting was in 3 weekends time, failed to even make a start on them, infact when i went to collect them, they were in the place i had placed them in his shop. So an engine removed for no point whatsoever. Fook em!
