Should I change oil?

Hey Guys,

dont have time to ride my bike, I change oil with filter about 4 years ago now.

Every year Im making about 150km or even less.

Should I change it for this year? How long oil and filter will keep their parameters ?

Best Regards
Tom

Well, you're not using the thing at all are you, so why don't you change the oil just before you actually ride it? I doubt it will deteriorate much just sitting there but you can reassure yourself that at least next time you ride it your oil will be squeaky clean and fresh.

150klm a year? Please find some time to actually enjoy the thing eh?

I'd change it as it does deteriorate a little over time. Mostly as it's hydroscopic so absorbs water, little by little.

Fully synthetic tends to be less susceptible, so even if it's stood, better oil lasts longer

If you tend to start the bike up just to bring it up to temperature in the workshop, but not actually ride it, over time you will get a little amount of fuel getting past the piston rings on every start up, doing that over the course of the winter will thin the oil down, and if you don't get out on the bike to warm the oil up enough to evaporate the fuel off its not ideal.
