Ladybird exhaust systems

As above, I haven't seen many systems in front of me, but they do look stunning and I imagine, if you still have originals, will be like losing an anchor on weight, nevermind the extra grunt..   Just do it, what's not to like and if cheap enough, sell it on eventually without much loss, because the way things are going over , no one will be able to buy new jap stuff in a few years without a mortgage 😔

Buy it without question, they are beautiful 😃

What he said. They are lovely. I know someone here with one on a Tuono Racing that I’m trying to blackmail into selling me.

I'm in and bought.

Brand new system never fitted, lad who selling it bought a few from Japan, one for his a couple of spares.

Just got to get it from the USA now.

22lb the full system weighs, that's about 11kgs?

It was expensive with the shipping, but fuck it, be dead one day and I can sell on my carbon Yoshimura RS3's to offset the cost.

Looks awesome and rare as fuck, I've never seen one in the UK before.

It's the only thing I really hate about the TL1000R (other than the light switch clutch) is the way the standard exhaust sweeps in, this makes the pipes exit straight and let's the engine breathe better as the down pipes are key to TL's making power.

Only cashing in as I paid mortgage off in July & I can offset the cost by selling on the yoshi carbon RS3's, been looking for a full Yoshimura system for last 3 years, but rarely come up and seem to change hands through friends rather than sold through the FB group, time to start a party....... when BJ let's us out, maybe.

A real marmite bike, i get that, but I love mine, even though its not the most comfortable of rides.

And the TL community, for a bike that's been out of production for 18 years is incredible, there a bloke in Germany knocking out modified slipper clutches from a GSXR 1000, I love how development has continued by the owners, would love a 1080 conversion, GSXR radial front end, 5 spoke wheels, just endless mods to these things.

Glad to see you went for it,,  they look great new but that things gona be even better once it starts blueing up with heat..  Yoshi sound nice and are the norm, but aren't stunningly beautiful like ladybird stuff.

As for post, try looking up what everyone's import admin fees are before anything else..

I got lucky as mentioned, with parcel farce, but that was at this end.. If this guy is willing to help you out, it needs to be down as some thing like a return item with description as metal tubing,, the hard bit is worrying about potential damage if you get the value lowered, a lot, to reduce or stop any fees.. If he can show you its extremely well packaged, then it can save you a fair old chunk.. My stuff wasn't anywhere near the same level on what your paying, though it was full aky systems, just very cheap at the time.. Wish I had bought more of it..

I found a tatty yosh system for the s a couple of years ago needing a fair bit of work, but for the paltry sum it cost, being a tightwad, especially on a bike that I haven't heard run yet, it's worth sorting out then selling on if nothing else. If its all sweet when run up, I am thinking of running the headers with a 4 bolt mount for the akys, plus originals for mots, so I don't need to sort the stainless rs3's it came with. Same with the peanuts I paid for a bitubo shock, it will move easy enough if I ever sell.. 😉

Could be the weight with the packaging for postal reasons

I think Akrapovic system is 6kgs?

But I imagine you'll have hear the old system hit the bike table when the last bolt is removed😊

I've had a good phone conversation with the guy in the states selling it last night, which is a rare thing in the world these days of emails and texts, all said and done its a private sale of effectively used parts, so hoping it'll get through with minimal fuss.

I've had a lot of stuff from the USA over the years, in around 2003 it was $2 to £1, and could get the stuff from texas to the UK in 4 days.

I've quit worrying about the cost now, in a world of rare components, stuff costs money and I've spent enough of my life on the bones of my arse.

I've got a nice pair of of carbon RS3's coming up for sale soon too if you're interested.

Are you sure the system weighs 11kg? that seems really heavy to me, the ti akra system on my rsv is feather weight, it's  a single can system on my rsv though.

You want to feel the weight of a standard TL Can !

Fuck I daren't say😁

I'm waiting to see if I'm going to get reamed by customs, despite the declaration on the parcel.

I'll let you know once they've landed in my possession.

Oh look a new pic.

I've always liked TL-R's, one time we were coming back from the Peak District and we came up on a guy that was riding one on the A5 near Tamworth.

it had race cans and sounded ama-zing.  I had my R1 at the time and I could hear and feel the pulses from the exhaust coming back at me.

We had some fun for a good few miles before he turned off and gave us a thumb's up.   Epic.

That's what sold it to me when they came out originally, I had a 97 SRAD 600 at the time and the TL1000R came out in 98, a lad had one local to me with yoshi RS3's on it, it sounded like nothing else in the world at that point, just couldn't afford one back then, as they retailed at just over £9k new, when 600's were £6.5k.

Just have something about them that I love.

Brilliant bikes, son raced one with good succsess for JB racing, 99-01 in European and New era superclub ch/ships, had a sprinkling of Yoshi bits, modified adj; s/arm, even had ti valves at one point till they turned mushroom on us at le mans, always fancied a nice one for the road, in blue and white obviously.

Oooeehhrr that's sexy!

Expect the weight to be max 2,5kg for the headers.. and about 2,5kg for the cans. Which is about a third compared to oem.

Afaik the part donut bit of the exhaust is the bottleneck for power. But who cares, the sound will be righteous!

I had a ladybird full system, copied from the hrc one on my sp1. It was without doubt the most beautiful aftermarket system I’ve ever seen. Proper weld porn. Wtf did I sell it for.......
