John21
2 stroke 600 V2 (two ΚTM 300 cylinders) in a RSV1000 frame. From concept to almost an engine in a year. facebook.com/rimarmotors/ Edited January 20, 2021 by John21
wazrs257
Yes, been watching this. But why the fuck put it in an oversized diesel chassis? Hopefully that's just for development purposes, and a proper chassis will follow shortly. 5

I guess he wanted to start with the engine and see how it went.

It's a decent chassis, so why not?
trident_special
I do have to wonder if he's made some changes to the top ends, if it's anything like my old KTM 300 the bike will basically rotate around the rear spindle!

I think he will adjust the primary to suit the RSV gearbox and the use of the bike.

In fact, if he wants to supply me with a 500 version, I'll commission Johnny Deetz to build me a frame, and I'll race it in the up to 500 class at 3 sisters!

Nutbar.

The RSV also has a low top shock mount, which makes the top pipe (which should be a considerable dia. for a 300 cylinder) routing easier. Christian Polverelli used an RSV chassis for his 500 V4 special http://www.2t-special.it/2016/02/07/articolo-5/ Developing a new engine and chassis in your garage at concurrently is just going to push the timeline even longer.
DougW
That looks lovely. In some of my idle moments I`ve pondered how to get two KTM cylinders in a working track bike. Two 250 top ends would be plenty for me. Only a lack of skills, money and time prevents me from doing this. 1
