I"ve got an early 916 frame here, that want to put back to the original colour.

Anyone any recommendation on colour codes?

Thanks.  That's the best result I get on google. Wondered I'd anyone had actually compared that colour to and original frame.

Try RS bike paints, they claim to match Ducati colours but there paint names are different to Ducatis

Just looked you need to add year and engine colour to get the frsme colour

Rs paints or alternatively try the sikkens or glasurit paint ranges.

you’ll never get an exact match but something close.

Has nobody managed to get an exact match yet?

With the amount early bikes are going for I'm amazed if nobody has.

I did a local repair on my 916 frame near the footpeg, closest i got was a fiat colour and no laquer and it while it matched, it still was too shiny - but way closer that some of these "restored" chinese gold frames you see on tarted up 916's

This was over 18 years ago now though Duncan. will see what i can find

Yeah "chinese gold" is exactly what I want to avoid.

Not really what I'm after.

It appears their were 4 or 5 variants of the frame gold over the years.  I found out who does Lougi Moto's paint work, and he seams to have done a few frames which look spot on.
