thorlz Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 I have 6 pot tokico brake on my gsxr750wt(96), They work fine but while replacing the dics and fitting braided hoses i may as well change the caliper seals at the same time. I have noticed that the seal kit webmoto sells have two different sizes of sizes of seal included, while the suzuki microfiche only appears to show one generic size for all 6 piston. I will end up measuring the pistons to make sure i get the correct kit, but i just thought i'd ask if any of you guys if you know of the piston sizing?
addiction269 Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 the zx7r six pot kit from wemoto had everything it needed and as far as i remember these calipers are interchangeable, but there were loads of seals!
thorlz Posted September 30, 2008 Author Report Posted September 30, 2008 cheers for the help. will order the kit
fastdruid Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 Having done the ex-hayabusa 6-pots on my SV more than a few times there are two different sizes, I'm pretty sure suzuki didn't change the caliper between '96 and '99 (apart from the hayabusa has teflon coated pistons, the TL has steel pistons don't know about the gsxr). Fecking PITA to do though, takes ages to do all 12. I also found that my calipers had worn and the pads rattled around, IIRC it's around 150quid for new replacement calipers. Druid
Markieboy Posted October 10, 2008 Report Posted October 10, 2008 Then I traded the bike in, something I'm beginning to regret... Really, why so? I'm planning on a new bike very soon but i'm in 2 minds as to what to do with my 7R
