Andygib1982 Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 on my nc30 1991 ive got standard head bearings on but ive got some needle bearings to go on.Will the seal fit the knew bearing ok ? i dont really wanna start it when it wont go together
marcaztls Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 If my memory's working okay (don't guarantee that...) then yes, I think the dust seal can be used with your new bearings. I've put taper roller bearings in NC30s before and pretty sure the dust seal sits flat against the bottom yoke, not around a step on the original bearing like some other bikes. Much better bearings than the original setup, go for it
haretrigger Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 sound cheers pal A lot of good bearing kits have a new pair of seals with them. You can be the best on your street with a hammer and chisel but you aint going to get that bottom bearing off with out making a dogs dinner of the bottom seal. Check your bearings after 50 to 100 miles as they will settle in an get a bit lose again. Good luck with it.
JBond Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Is there a trick to getting the top nut and preload correct. I've always struggled with that when I've changed bearings in the past.
