SteeleRacing
Hi everyone just a quick one want to set the sag on my gixer 750 l1 on the forks got the shock bang on with it being conventional but struggling with the front sag settings just wondering is there a differnt measurment to aim for on the bpf's ? unladen was 127mm and with me on it in full kit 85 mm so coming in at 41 mm Thanks in advance Tom
suspensionsmith
Add spring preload to a sag setting of around 35mm but no less ( if you can even get that much).....problem with these BPF jobs is they have weak rebound control so adding preload means also adding rebound damping to compensate....which in turn adds more compression damping making them even harsher if you are using it on the road....a revalve respring does wonders for these. Mrdrink
I can only get a max of 20mm of static sag on my standard BPF's. ideally you want 25mm but it doesnt stop them from working. i have two clicks from fully out on mine. One thing i have noticed happen to my cost is that the preload adjusters mess up/break and can then carry on winding in. Instead of the 0-15 range it will have something like 64 clicks . I read the manual and its worded "only the 0-15 range is usable" so i guess this is known to happen. Mine are on a zx6 and the standard spring is fine for me. just thought i would share my experiences.
