bignige
The old girl has an intermittent starting fault. Will ALWAYS start in neutral, but occasionally won't start in gear with the clutch pulled in. Please note I last saw my multimeter about 3 years ago when I kicked it across a crowded garage floor in anger. Thanking all you in anticipation! :-)

MonkeyJim
The old girl has an intermittent starting fault. Will ALWAYS start in neutral, but occasionally won't start in gear with the clutch pulled in. then simply make sure the bike's in neutral before trying to start. Voila! problem solved
Evilchicken0
Either its the neutral detector bit or the clutch switch. Clutch is easier to check / replace
