bikemike
I had this problem as well, when I came to fit my lovely Accossato mastercylinder (from Fatbloke) ,I found my Yamaha banjo was a different thread. You need an M10 x 1.00 thread. I needed a brake light switch as well so I bought This Hope this helps, Mike
timbrell
Yep, new banjo required by the sounds of it. They are usually called coarse or fine thread, if you're not sure which you've got and you're going to a bike shop then take the bolt with you and say 'not this thread!' srad34
Think mine was very fine. I used the one off my old Brembo MC....
kanerdog1x1
Japanese master cylinders are usually m10x1.25, 'm10 fine'. Italian master cylinders are usually m10x1.00, which is also m10 fine, but the other fine.
