crasher76
Basically trying to make my track bike a bit more useable and achieve an endurance look to boot. Std headlight bolts inside fairing so no obvious brace, just a bleeding big snorkel! Ideally i would like a proper job with light recessed, Any ideas? lorenzo
On my old rc45 lookalike, I got an aerosol can of the right diameter, covered it in parcel tape (stops things sticking to it), wrapped it in fibreglass, then dinked the can out from the middle, revealing a perfectly smooth inside of a tube, which I then stuck to the inside of a race fairing, leaving any surplus sticking out of the front. Once it had set in place and I was happy with it, I got a dremel (a hacksaw blade would do this OK though) and trimmed the bit poking out from the front off, and sanded any rough edges off. Hey presto, a nice sunken headlight tube. If you want a bigger headlight (I used a little projector thing off a scooter) then maybe something like a small terracotta flowerpot would be the way to go as your mould.
