tsp
Not very 'PB' I know but has anyone done this? I'm building a bit of a cafe/custom/bobber/salt flats style bike at the mo and I want to rake the front end out just a bit. The physical doing is no problem but I'm wondering if there are any problems that lie ahead? Is there a calculation I should do? It's a very slow bike so performance and handling are no real concern, so long as its safe. Also, it's a shaft drive so I'm wondering if the rake would alter the shaft angle and if this might cause an issue? Thanks people
Evilchicken0
It depends how you do it and by how much. You can raise the tripple clamps up the forks or lower the rear suspension ... or fit a smaller diameter rear wheel or bigger dia front (which might be easier). It will alter the shaft angle but it shouldn't be a concern ... just do it by increments. The steering will become more vague or floaty

tsp
Oosh look at that! Ok... I'd not want to do it that much... I'm not set on doing anything yet, I've let a welder loose on the tank, what I'm having done would have been done either way. It's just the next step that requires thought. Each has pros and cons. It won't look as good as either but it's the thought that counts
