Went out on the bikes last weekend, and nearing the end of the 60-mile route, we got to the section that involves rather a lot of water..

It's awesome. Very hard work though, but the scenery is amazing and I guess it counts as excersize!

One of your 5 a day mate! Wish I had some decent lanes local, doh.

What's the law about green laning? Can you just go anywhere and ride or will you be bummed to death by the beardie ramblers?

Its a bit more complex than that really, by rights you can just have a look at an OS map, find the Byways (usually indicated as a -+-+-+-+ on landranger maps), get yourself a road legal enduro and go exploring.

But.. sometimes the lanes can be subject to a TRO, meaning you cannot ride them, or they may be closed due to a landslide etc so you really need to speak to the local council about them. Or join the TRF (£45 a year) and meet up with them. Or, find a mate like mine, who knows them all like the back of his hand. But is also a sadistic bugger who likes trying to kill me!

It is great fun, I'm hooked. Am joining the TRF this year as they do so much for the cause, court battles etc, as there are always people trying to get them shut down.

(this a horrible bit, the climb up has claimed more newbies than anywhere else!)

And this is a nice little run

I started this malarkey a couple of years ago and love it. The road bikes seem a bit pointless now compared to the fun to be had in the dirt!

The TRF is a great organisation who do so much to protect our rights to ride........

Between the racing & greenlaning, i have hardly ridden on the road for enjoyment since early last year. Just don't see much of a point. A day out on the CRM usually takes from 9am until dark, and costs about £10 of fuel!

No worries, I have a couple more.. (can tell I'm enjoying my new gopro!)

As soon as I can get some new tyres, I'll be going again at the end of the month. Monster 120-miler!
