SAB
So I was having a look at the 08 Fireblade front calipers that I am going to put on the 05, and I got to wondering if you can run these without the copper colored retainer/rattle clips. To clarify, this is the thin metal piece that fits inside the caliper and keeps the pads in place. The Beringers that I'm running on my R1 have no such clips. Is it safe to run the stock Blade calipers without these clips? Is anything risking damage/faster wear without them? Thanks in advance.

blur1
Thanks for the replies...Greg what's their real benefit (if any)? basically to reduce 'noise/rattles'. my 'race' calipers for example never have them from the start. is there a reason you don't want them? SAB
Ah thanks...that makes sense. They just looked like they didn't do anything mega important, so I wanted them gone. OCD. It's a bitch.
