tootall
Need to relocate an oil cooler. To put it where I want will mean mounting it backwards, both airflow and oilflow will be reversed. Any reason I shouldn't do this? Its a basic oe honda cooler. Horizontal in/out fixings. It won't be upside down. Can't think of a prob doin this but thought I'd check. CMSMJ1
Cannot see it mattering too much as long as it is not a lot higher than normal.the oil pump only cares how high it has to pump the oil I guess?
BudgetBoy
Can't see why not as long as the air flow is the same. Also as CMSMJ1 says don't go much higher than it already is..Just to be safe.
tootall
Sound. It will actually be a bit lower, in front of the rad indstead of in nose cone.
Superdunc
The height of the oil cooler isn't a problem, if there's not enough oil pressure push the oil up to the handle bars and back you've got bigger issues. If your going to put the oil cooler in front of the rad, it's good practice to mount them as close together as possible, a piece of foam tape around the perimeter of the oil cooler will stop the them rubbing together and stop the airflow spilling out so improve the efficiency slightly.
