lorenzo
I'm after buying a 675, i've seen one that's a decent bit of value, so long as the engine management light can be cancelled and it's nothing serious. The current owner is about 100 miles from his nearest triumph dealers and he says that to get the light reset he needs to take it in there. I was wondering if there's a way I can check the code myself (series of flashes on the dash, that type of thing) so I can get an idea of what might be the issue before buying it. You can access the ecu via tuneboy software can't you? Can you clear fault codes with this too?
gsxr renegade
Yeah, tuneboy will let you view and wipe the fault codes so you can see exactly why the light is on and erase the code if needed. As a quick and dirty test, after about 3 or so stop start cycles without moving the bike, if it’s something minor like the exhaust valve sticking etc then the light should go out however this isn’t 100% accurate. The best way is to get a tuneboy or to get a dealer to take a look.
