Video footage taken of my throttle cack handedness from our very own No1 Bloke.

Thanks Mike. It's given me a little insight into where I went wrong even if I had an idea.

Damn that looks like a nasty one, I hope you're ok? Or in better shape than the bike anyway :icon_blackeye:

At least you got it on camera though, which has to be the number one rule of crashing.

Any idea what caused it? Just too much too soon?

woohooo, what a way to get off a bike!... take it you walked away unhurt?.

Erm no not quite. Was taken to Grimsby Hospital with a suspected broken pelvis but thankfully x-rays were ok. Still having trouble getting around though. Lots of muscle and tissue damage. Back to see the doc tomorrow and I'll have an intense period of physio ahead of me before I'll be fit enough to ride again. Starting to bruise up really nicely all over too.

Ouch indeed! That looked really unlucky that it high sided at all, it didn't look like you were pushing that hard, and the violence of the roll afterwards, the bike really wanted to distroy it's self didn't it.

What do think caused it, cold tyre, or too hard on the throttle?

That was a nasty looking crash dude. Not going to give you a 10 for it as there was not enough altitude. The barrel rolls upped the difficulty though.. 8.3

Hope you heal well and soon. The bike needs a pic on here too..the poor beast

I think I just asked a little too much throttle just as the camber drops away. The tyre was due to be changed too. The engine may have spun up a little quicker as it was minus its flywheel by this time.

The tyre wasn't cold this was mid way through the session. It was however due to be changed so may have contributed. I think the main cause of it was me though. Just a little too much too soon, the camber drops off, out it steps and goodnight.

Main thing is I'm basically ok. Just seen the doc and signed off for the rest of the week. Another appointment on Monday and a referal to the Physio. Doc seems to think 6-10 weeks to fully recover. Basically I've pulled my groin and hamstring really badly along with the usual impact bruising. Bits of me are quite a nice shade of purple now.

I did much the same in 2010 and ended up with a bruise round my arse/back that made it look like I had purpleish blue shorts on.

I didn't think I had approached Mansfield any different to all the previous laps, well apart from the massive highside :icon_blackeye:

Staff at Grimsby A&E were great though. Topped the day off by having the van gearbox go bang on the way home!!

I did the same coming out of the chicane 3 years ago. I went straight up and landed in the track on the bottom of my back, was black and blue and couldnt walk for a week. Luckily no major damage, Couldnt say much for the staff at Lincoln hospital tho they were shite! Hope you recover fast!!
