r1-daz
Does anybody know what's involved in converting a dt125mx into a 175? I havn't checked on the stroke yet but does the con-rod need changing? Is it a straight conversion? Any help or advice would be appreciated. wavydavy
A quick google says they share the same stroke (56.0 x 50 vs 66.0 x 50), which sounds helpful...
wazrs257
I would say it's just a straight forward top end swap, as the stroke is the same for both. Not sure what size carb the 125 uses, but the 175 has a 28mm Mikuni, easy enough to get hold of (As fitted to air-cooled RDs). If you wanted to complicate the issue by running an oil pump, you may need the 175 one though. Then just gear it to suit
2Smoke
Top end change mate, think the 175 runs a slightly larger main jet so best check on that one. Not run autolube on mine so cannot comment on the pump output sorry.

rossm
I have a feeling the 125 was a 4 stud mounting setup and the 175 was 6, but it's been 20~ish years since I stripped one down so could be talking complete bollox
