Eddie_fb
I have a '92 Suzuki Goose with a knackered starter. (The starter has been diagnosed with a kaput bearing at one end?) I've been looking on eBay, and can find a few with the same code, SM-13, but from different bikes (a 2003 Honda CB1300 for instance). However, in the photos they don't quite look right with the mounting points? Now, all the photos on the bay, and the starter from my bike, have 2 long bolts from front to back. Do these connect different end sections, i.e. Different flanges/rear mounting points? I guess if i buy a newer starter, and swop over the ends, this would still leave me with the end section that has a knackered bearing? The mechanic looking at the bike seems to think the bearing is gonna be a nightmare to source by itself, is this normally the case? Does any of this make sense, are there any options I've missed? Cheers! Ed.
trumpeteer
Found a couple on the bay searching for DR350 starter motor, looks to be totally different casing to the CB1300, CBR600, KZ1000 and Fazer 600 listed when you search for SM-13. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DR-350-starter-motor-/120843852421?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item1c22dada85 Scruffy one with half a field attached for £25 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUZUKI-DR-350-STARTER-MOTOR-/130608699329?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item1e68e297c1 Good luck
Eddie_fb
Cheers for that, but both links point to a different starter than the one I have? The 'prongs' with boltholes are much shorter on my starter? I'll have to get a photo to make myself clearer. Will report back asap. Thanks again.
