szrdave
I've not used a valve spring compressor before, so don't know how universal they are and which type is easiest to use Would I be better off with the 'lever' type like this, or maybe the 'screw' type sets like this one? uggiebear
http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/cht461-ohc-valve-spring-compressor?da=1&TC=SRC-valve Depends what engine your using it for? Best one i found for an R1 was this one, still had to modify it slightly because its a 5 valve head and the stationary end was slightly too big. I cut a few mm out either side and compressed to make it the right size. Hope this helps
Benji
Depends on the size of the head in question, I used the screw type one on a R125 head, gives a very controlled release, ideal for small and fiddly. On bigger stuff I use my car lever one, but the release is not as controlled so make sure you have the collets where you want them.
szrdave
It's for my SZR660, which has a relatively large head. Probably best going for the lever type then, thanks!
